SATURDAY - September 7th
We had a fantastic evangelism weekend in the City of Payatas.
We took a few minutes to give everyone their tracks, to pray, and then to prepare for outreach.
For each evangelism weekend, we have 5 different teams that go out. Some of the Payatas youth and adults joined our teams.
It is rainy season here in the Philippines so we didn't know what type of weather to expect. Thankfully, God blessed us with a gorgeous day.
It is a wonderful thing to watch these students share the gospel with these beautiful Filipino people. And also to have Sunday School right on the streets! Songs, Bible stories, prayer...it is so much fun! We are absolutely loving this experience.
After we handed out tracks for a few hours we came back to the church for lunch.
Pastor Minh asked some of the young people to sing some songs and to testify of God's goodness. The girls sang a Sunday School song with motions and then the boys wanted to try to do it better.
We had some good laughs and fun.
Around 1:30 we drove to the city of Novaliches.
Pastor Minh has some contacts he has made in this city and he wanted the students to canvas the area with invitations.
While some of the groups handed out tracks, others started setting up chairs for our outdoor service.
They began the service with Sunday School, and many children came to hear songs and lessons about the Bible. They even had coloring pages to work on. It was fun!
After the children finished, Nate started the main service with prayer and then introduced some of the students who lead us in worship. We had several students testify, and then Pastor Minh preached.
We were very excited to have quite a big group of people come. Every time we have evangelism we have a large group of children that come. It is sweet to see their hunger and how much they love when you show them attention.
The visitors were touched by the wonderful presence of God. It is hard to describe the feeling of seeing so many hungry souls here in the Philippines. We are so thankful to be a part.
After the altar call ended we had everyone gather together for a group photo. 😀
SUNDAY - September 8th
On Sunday, we left Bagong Silang early for Payatas so we would arrive in time to gather children for Sunday School.
While the different evangelism teams went to the homes of their contacts they made the day before, the others started singing Sunday School songs and eventually we had a very large group of children.
The visiting children.
Don't they just tug at your heart strings? They are so beautiful!
After Sunday School ended the children had their snack and then we started our service off with prayer. The building was packed! It was so exciting.
The students sang "Let Revival Come" and the presence of God fell.
Nate preached about the gift of the Holy Ghost, and many were seeking it in the altars.
Children and adults alike were crying out to God. What a beautiful service we had!
We had a total of 71 visitors on Sunday! It was incredible! Thank God for blessing another evangelism weekend.
The Payatas Church was so kind to prepare meals for us all. Everyone enjoyed fellow shipping with one another.
The young people had games and some fun and we enjoyed watching them laugh and have a good time.
Before we left, everyone was given beautiful key chains from the Payatas youth group.
We are grateful for another successful evangelism weekend!
Youth Camp is next for the student's agenda and they are very excited. We have two more evangelism weekends scheduled before the school year ends, and one of them will be in Calamba. We cannot wait !
I've loved reading your blog for quite some time now, but now I REALLY love it! Seeing the faces of so many we met last month is a treat. So happy we got to spend time together. Praying for you as God unfolds His plan in your life.
