The girls' practical arts class has been such a blast!
In one of our classes I taught them how to set a formal and informal table, how to fold cloth napkins, how to be a proper hostess and we went over table manners. After our class we had a tea party. 😀
The girls told me that they love milk tea, which is called boba in the US. I asked the house angels if they knew how to make it and they were thrilled to help me. They also made fresh cookies for us while I was teaching.
The girls were so excited and it was my first time trying boba. It was very good and extremely refreshing in this heat.
The girls were also excited when I told them that two sewing machines had been purchased and shipped via Amazon for our class. What a blessing!!! We are so grateful !!!
Our first class with the sewing machine was so adorable. They all were huddled around it and couldn't wait to try it. Some were so nervous and were shaking, but they all eventually had a turn using it.
After they each had a turn sewing a straight line guide, I had them cut out a pattern to make hair bows.
The hair bows turned out so cute! They have been wearing them almost every single day. It makes me happy that they have been enjoying creating items that they can use.
In another class they learned how to make pillow cases from scratch. They each picked out a fabric they liked and they helped each other cut them out.
{Using the floor as a cutting board. Whatever works! 😀}
They all are doing so well and I am proud of them. I have several more sewing projects that I am looking forward to teaching them. Also, we are very excited for next semester, as I will be teaching them how to bake, which should be a lot of fun! 💕
